Mission Statement:

Golden Pets is a startup organization that strives to rescue Golden Retrievers and Golden Doodles of any age to be rehabilitated and adopted.

Cover Letter:

Dear Community,

Subject: Event being held by Golden Pets aimed towards raising money.

As avid dog lovers, we are holding an event and want to raise money for pets in need of care and reach out to other animal lovers within our community.

In this media kit, you will be provided with information about who we are and what we do. Not only will it provide our backgrounds, but also what Golden Pets want to achieve. Our team has created a news release, fact sheet, tip sheet, brand story, and staff bios. Although we had this planned out for years, our organization is officially becoming a nonprofit. In the media kit, we also have shared pictures of dogs that have been previously rescued. Any help, whether that be donations or volunteering hours is appreciated. Being a part of the Golden Pets Rescue family gives a person the chance to change a pet’s life forever.

Thank you for giving Golden Pets Rescue a chance, we hope to hear back soon so all of us can work towards this goal together.

Sincerely,

Erik Yang, Emma Plank, Charlotte Tenebrini Steckart

Golden Pets Announces Grand Opening

The city of Green Bay is opening a new non-profit organization, Golden Pets. Golden Pets is a startup organization that strives to rescue Golden Retrievers and Goldendoodles of any age to be rehabilitated and adopted.

As the opening of Golden Pets is announced, the nonprofit is looking for volunteers to help with the organization. Golden Pets has a current staff of ten and would like as much help as they can get. The members of Golden Pets encourage anyone that is good with animals to reach out and apply.

The creator of Golden Pets said “It is such a big accomplishment for Golden Pets today. I am so pleased with how this non-profit is coming along and the opportunity for Golden Pets to open”.

Golden Pets will be opening its doors for the first time on April 30th, 2020. Golden Pets is inviting the citizens of Green Bay and the media to personally attend the grand opening. The location of the opening will be 1234 Golden Way; Green Bay, WI 54311. It will be held in the first ever location of Golden Pets at 2:00 pm. The grand opening will last approximately three hours. During this time, people will have the chance to meet some of the Golden Retrievers and Goldendoodles that are already in their care. Background

Golden Pets is a startup organization that strives to rescue Golden Retrievers and Golden Doodles of any age to be rehabilitated and adopted. We have created homes and a new life for many pets but have recently been going through tough times. In addition, many of our rescues have been from puppy mills. These places have abused and used puppies for their own benefits and when a pet is seen as “useless” that is when we step in. It is hard to watch as we try to transition these abused pets back to a normal life. However, because of the covid outbreak, we have had to work through many different challenges. One of these challenges was taking care of all these pets along with the restrictions. Because of this, our staff is only made up of 10 members. The more pets we have saved, the more people need to take care of them. Even though we are a small team, every time we rescue an animal, we cannot help but smile. There is no better feeling than having a positive impact on a pet’s life knowing that they are in a better place. We are proud of our achievements and hope to one day impact the lives of others. In addition, every day is a new learning experience, and we strive to be the best. Furthermore, taking care of pets in need comes with a level of responsibility. All our team members are held to a certain standard and know what needs to be done. We could not have made it this far without everyone’s effort and support. It is thanks to the great minds behind Golden Pets that have made this organization what it is today.

Brand Statement

Our organization started because of a dog named Honeybee. Honeybee was rescued from a puppy mill when she was only 3 weeks old. She was the runt of litter and on her way to being euthanized we stepped in. It took 3 months for her to return to proper health and she is still at our shelter now. Honeybee’s story inspired us to look further into the needs of abandoned goldens and because of her we created our business in Green Bay.

Hi everyone, my name is Honeybee, I am a 3-year-old female golden retriever. I love to play frisbee in my free time and seduce humans for belly rubs. I am very cuddly but with a lot of energy. I need at least 3 walks a day and time to run around in a dog park. I am good with kids and friendly with other dogs. Take me to my forever home, but keep your flip flops out of my reach

Fact Sheet:

  1. Golden Pets is a 501c3 organization (non-profit)

  2. The non-profit focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating, and adopting

  3. Golden pets have 10 working employees

  4. There is only one location of Golden Pets, located in Green Bay 1234 Golden Way; Green Bay, Wisconsin 54311

  5. Golden Pets holds 100 dogs

  6. Golden Pets rescues any age of Golden Retrievers and Goldendoodles

  7. Approximately 6.3 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year

Tip Sheet

  • Give your pets attention!

    • The saddest thing to see is when your pet is deprived of attention. Not only do they tend to bark and whine more but it kills their entire mood. Instead of keeping your pet in a cage all day, give them the love they deserve. Giving them more attention only benefits the relationship between the owner and their pet.

  • Properly groom them when they need it.

    • No pet should ever feel like they are carrying around an extra weight. If their fur becomes too heavy or if their nails become too long, it is time to clean them up. For a pet, sometimes a simple furcut can go a long way. In the summer, when the sun is beaming, a pet should not have its winter coat on.

  • Pets need exercise.

    • Everyone is always busy with their daily life, however, to simply neglect your pet for a walk or some outdoor time is a crime. Animals love being outside and is important that they get this time. Even if it’s for only ten minutes, the exercise a pet gets from running around will go a long way.

  • Did someone say treat?

    • Reward your pets for being good! If they perform a trick or are behaving, they should be given a treat. Not only does this encourage good their good behavior, but it also builds better habits.

  • The more the merrier!

    • Pets love having other pets around. In fact, this creates a playful environment and encourages friendships. This does not mean you have to buy another pet, but a dog park or a neighborhood buddy can be the difference.

Bios:

Angela Smith:

As the executive director of Golden Pets, Angela Smith has devoted her time and money to this organization. A proud pet owner herself, she has always had a soft spot for pets that are in horrible situations. Her golden retriever Daisy was rescued from a puppy mill.  Angela first started by donating and volunteering at animal shelters but began to see the bigger picture. From the experience she gained by volunteering, she began to teach her family and friends how to take care of animals. Her drive and passion for the care of animals lead her to start the Golden Pets rescue organization.

Before creating Golden Pets, Angela was a lawyer and worked in the field for 20 years. She has dealt with all types of cases ranging from murder to trespassing. However, the ones that caught her attention the most were animal abuse cases. With her background in law, Angela knows what is required for taking care of animals. Angela also has her very own podcast where she tells the story of animals that have been rescued by Golden Pets.

Angela currently lives in the city of Green Bay and is happily married. She has a son and a daughter who both hope to one day join Golden Pets. In addition, she has 2 other dogs besides Daisy. If Angela is not working on Golden Pets, she spends her free time writing and painting. She hopes that one day Golden Pets will become global and help pets from all over the world.

Evan Jonas:

Being the director of communications, Evan Joans is the key spokesperson for Golden Pets. His career started as a radio show host where he heard about Golden Pets. It was not long before Evan decided to join the Golden Pets organization. Evan has spoken at many events for different organizations and has shown that he has a powerful voice. Not only does he speak at events for Golden Pets, but he also oversees the public relations team. Without Evan, Golden Pets would not be able to reach out to as many people as they have within the city of Green Bay.

Evan’s most recent project was planning how the grand opening of Golden Pets should be announced. He assigned a team to create a media kit that provides information about the organization. He believes that this media kit will grab the attention of volunteers and donators across Wisconsin. Evan also plans on speaking at high schools and universities in the fox valley area. Being a UWGB alumnus, he believes speaking at the campus will gain college volunteers that will further advance Golden Pets.

Evan currently lives in downtown Green Bay with his golden doodle max. In Evan’s free time, he enjoys listening to ted talks and going out for bike rides. Evan believes that his work is a way to reach others on a deeper level and build connections with individuals.

Jane Anderson:

Jane Anderson is the Development and Donor Engagement manager at Golden Pets. The Development and Donor Engagement manager’s role is to develop, plan, implement, and evaluate several ways to fundraise and collect donations. Donations are the heart of Golden Pets, and it is Jane Anderson’s role to make sure that donations and fundraising are in action.

Anderson has worked with many non-profits before her time at Golden Pets. Jane Anderson currently has two Golden Retrievers herself, which originates from her love for the Golden Pets non-profit organization.

Anderson originally lived in Chicago, working for the Red Door Animal Shelter. When Jane found out about Golden Pets, she was immediately passionate about the idea of starting a rescue shelter for Golden Retrievers and Golden Doodles. Jane Anderson currently lives full-time in Green Bay with her two Golden Retrievers, Luna, and Bailey. In Jane’s free time, she loves to cook and go hiking with Luna and Bailey. Anderson believes that her work at Golden Pets is one small way to build the Golden Pets organization.

In the heart of Green Bay, Wisconsin, there's a special place that's more than just a shelter—it's a community. A world where the life of every companion animal matters. Welcome to Happily Ever After (HEA), where wagging tails and gentle purrs create a rhythm of compassion, and where fostering dreams are not a fairy tale but a shared reality.

Today, we're reaching out to you, our community, to spread awareness about the joy and impact of fostering. It's a simple, yet powerful, call to open your hearts and homes to animals waiting for a temporary refuge—a call to foster hope. We want to shift the focus from just adopting to embracing the idea of fostering, making it clear that it's not an unattainable feat but a reachable and fulfilling endeavor.

Let's break down what fostering really involves. Fostering is not about having a perfect home or endless resources; it's about having a caring heart. At HEA, fostering is a collaborative effort between our community and our dedicated team. Through this story, we aim to demystify the process and emphasize that fostering is an act of love that anyone with a compassionate spirit can undertake.

Our goal is to bring the essence of fostering closer to home, making it relatable and achievable for everyone in our community.

In the Happily Ever After community, recruiting and retaining foster families isn't just a goal—it's about building connections. Our story is incomplete without the individuals who open their homes to animals in need. So, we extend an invitation to join this real-life narrative, to be a hero in the story of an animal finding their 'Happily Ever After.'

As we recruit, we promise a support system that's here for you. We're not just looking for foster families; we're creating a network of caring individuals who share the same values. Our commitment is a lasting one, offering resources, guidance, and a network of fellow foster families who understand the everyday joys and challenges of this heartfelt journey.

Join us in this story. Be a part of Happily Ever After, where every fostered tail wag contributes to the melody of a community united by a shared commitment to kindness. As we embark on this journey together, remember, the story isn't complete without you. Open your hearts, foster hope, and be a vital character in the ongoing saga of 'Happily Ever After.'

Owned Media Assignment Persuasive Brand Story #2:

Happily Ever After, better known as HEA, has devoted its cause to saving dogs and cats in need since 2006. The no-kill shelter has saved hundreds of companion pets and is focused on increasing those numbers. Through volunteers, donations, and support HEA has been able to grow the company from a small barn to a state-of-the-art Adoption center in Green Bay, WI.  One of the largest contributors to HEA’s ability to save so many animals is through their foster program. This program which places current shelter dogs with foster families allows HEA to take on more animals, provides the rescue with a loving home, and ensures more time for animals with higher needs. Although HEA understands not everyone has the ability to be a foster, they have other options for those who want to help.

April 11th, 2024, on National Pet Day, HEA will be holding its very first “Lifesaver” Event. The event brings families together. Nala, our featured “success story” will be there to interact with,  as well as other rescue dogs and cats. The event is a time to celebrate HEA’s successes and gather more volunteers who want to make a difference to help our animals. Change a life. Be a Life Saver. Come and join us April 11th, 2024.

BRAND VISUALS/POSTS WITH CAPTIONS:

This is our friend Bear. He was 1 year old when he was found in a ditch on the side of the highway. A kind soul brought him to us and we were able to secure a temporary foster family until he was adopted. You could be that soul, that family, or that foster parent.

Be a Lifesaver April 11th, 2024, on National Pet Day, at the HEA adoption center: 2255 Fox Height Lane, Green Bay Wisconsin.

Kendahl & Nala - Our Featured “Success Story”:

Nala came to HEA as an abused and neglected 6 month only puppy that was severely malnourished. Our “Life Saver” and regular volunteer Kendahl immediately fell in love with her and began to foster Nala. After 3 short months Nala had made a full recovery and a big impression on Kendahl who decided to adopt Nala. Their “happily ever after” story is just one of hundreds. Come to our Life Saver Event on April 11th, 2024 and learn how you too can make a difference.
