Tips For Dog Owners & Volunteers
1. Give your pets attention!
The saddest thing to see is when your pet is deprived of attention. Not only do they tend to bark and whine more but it kills their entire mood. Instead of keeping your pet in a cage all day, give them the love they deserve. Giving them more attention only benefits the relationship between the owner and their pet.
2. Properly groom
No pet should ever feel like they are carrying around an extra weight. If their fur becomes too heavy or if their nails become too long, it is time to clean them up. For a pet, sometimes a simple furcut can go a long way. In the summer, when the sun is beaming, a pet should not have its winter coat on.
3. Pets need exercise
Everyone is always busy with their daily life, however, to simply neglect your pet for a walk or some outdoor time is a crime. Animals love being outside and is important that they get this time. Even if it’s for only ten minutes, the exercise a pet gets from running around will go a long way.
4. Did someone say treat?
Reward your pets for being good! If they perform a trick or are behaving, they should be given a treat. Not only does this encourage good their good behavior, but it also builds better habits.
5. The more the merrier!
Pets love having other pets around. In fact, this creates a playful environment and encourages friendships. This does not mean you have to buy another pet, but a dog park or a neighborhood buddy can be the difference.
